A Rainy Wednesday in Georgia

Picture having to spend a full day completely alone. No phone, no computer, no friends to talk to, movies to watch, or places to go. Even for all of us introverts, this seems pretty daunting! I was given just such a day this past week and let me just say, it was amazing!! For welcome week here at CGA, one of the days was spent alone with just yourself, your Bible, and The Lord.

When I think back on that day, it is difficult to put into words the things that the Lord spoke to my heart. I walked into this season at CGA full of nerves, covered in emotions from the past season of life, and completely intimidated by the things that this next season would bring and uncover. As I sat quietly with the Lord, He calmed my restless heart. He spoke words such as, rise, run and fighter, over me. While not necessarily seen as calming words, they calmed my heart in an unearthly way. These words ignited my heart and gave me direction for the next 3 months and beyond which brought more peace than I have had in weeks.

This next season is completely new. It isn’t something that I could prepare for. I don’t know what to expect but Jesus certainly does and I am so thankful for him choosing to share his heart with me on a rainy Wednesday in Gainesville, Georgia.
